Griffin Photo Workshop

WOW! Have I not updated any photos in quite some time. So I have a huge back log of images that I could be posting here and just not sure why I haven’t. So today I came across an old shoot I did with our good friend David Griffin, he supplied the models and we supplied the studio and lighting. Here are a few snaps I took, as soon as I remember everybody’s name I’ll update the post.

Hey Everyone! Come on down to what is going to be one of the biggest and best Photography and Modeling networking events in Southern California.

Smash Photo Studio is one of the sponsors so it would be great to meet and talk with other photographers and models.

What is Style Pose Click?
SPC is a networking event for Photographers, Models, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists and Wardrobe Stylists. Pretty much anyone involved in the creation of amazing photo shoots!

Why Style Pose Click?
After the success of 4 smaller networking events in 2009, we felt like it was time to take the “meet-n-greet” to a whole new level. We strive to give artists a voice, a chance to learn and a place to been seen… the connections made at our events have proven to be invaluable.

When is Style Pose Click?
This event will take place on Sunday, May 16th 2010! From 10am-6pm. A full-day of networking possibilities!

We’ve leased out the entire property at the White House Event Center in Anaheim, CA for the event.

Lighting Workshop at Smash Photo Studio, Monday Nov. 23, 2009

An Introduction to Studio Lighting, a 2 hour basic lighting workshop covering some easy to use lighting techniques using professional studio equipment. This class will be the taught by professional instructors; Bill Schutt/Smash Photo, Dave Fieling/Dave Fieling Photography, and David Griffin/David Griffin Photography

Topics to be discussed
NEW! – Using small battery powered flashes, aka: speedlight, hot-shoe flash, or STROBIST techniques.
- Constant lighting and strobe lighting
- Light modifier [softboxes, umbrellas, and more]
- Reading a light meter
- White Balance
and a few other random bits of useful information

By the end of the workshop you will have some basic studio lighting information and will be able to shoot away with confidence.

We are continuing our “Introduction to Studio Lighting” series, a 2 hour basic lighting workshop covering some easy to use lighting techniques using professional studio equipment. - Mostly focusing on strobe lighting, some discussion of constant lighting
- Using a light modifier [softboxes, umbrellas & more]
- Reading a light meter

Corporate Portraits – Andrea White-Kjoss

Recently we had Andréa White-Kjoss, President & CEO of Bikestation a Mobis Transportation Alternatives Company, in our studio for a quick Corporate Portrait Photography Session. Bikestation, headquartered here in Long Beach, provides bicycle commuters what I think is a great idea in service. We wish Andréa and Bikestation much continued success.

Thank you Andréa & Bob, her Dad, who was in town at the time whos great personality added to the shoot too.

Photography Studio Lighting Workshop $20 series

Family Portrait Session – Priya, Jeet, & Ajala

Local Long Beach residents Priya and Jeet wanted to celebrate their new family with some family portraits of themselves with their beautiful baby girl, Ajala. We even found a few good shots with the family dog to really round out the photo shoot.

They have a wonderful historic 1922 craftsman home which they have been working on for awhile now. So we made sure to include shots of the backyard garden with pond and some of the awesome curb appeal of the home.

Fantastic family, wonderful to work with and couldn’t have gone any better. Thank you Priya, Jeet, & Ajala.
