Basic Studio Lighting Workshop #1

UPDATE Jan. 29: We are fully booked for this event. Join our mailing list to receive free announcements for next months and future workshops. Thank you everyone for your interest and see you at the workshop.

A New Year means a time to try new things and for us photographers that means learning new photography techniques.

To start the New Year off right we have decided to put together a series of monthly workshops and gatherings at Smash Photo Studio.

Our first workshop kicks off with an Introduction to Studio Lighting. This will be a 2 hour basic lighting workshop covering some easy to use lighting techniques using our studio equipment.

Topics to be discussed
- Constant lighting and strobe lighting
- Proper equipment setup
- Choosing a light modifier [softboxes, umbrellas, octoboxes, grids, barndoors and more]
- Reading a light meter
- White Balance
- ISO, Aperature, Shutterspeed, Focus Point
and a few other random bits of useful information

If you have been thinking about photographing in a studio but have been holding back, this is the studio workshop for you. By the end of the workshop you will be able to walk into most any studio situation and be able to shoot away with confidence.

Class will last about 2 hours and you are welcome to stay after if you still have questions. Bring your camera if you have specific questions about your equipment and how to use it in the studio.

If you are anywhere near our studio in Long Beach, CA and you want to get to know some basic studio lighting techniques than you do not want to miss this workshop.
